Talking Intake, Exhaust and tuning...

SO I have been reading and reading...I don't have all the knowledge I need yet so asking this...If I change the air cleaner to say the HD Chisel extreme, install a set of Cobra neighbor hater slip ons...then I can install a "plug and play" Vance & Hines FP3 and it will basically tune the motor itself, correct? Any other tips?
I really wanted the louder pipes and well, it seems one thing leads to another..LOL

As long as your bikes fuel injected yes, you didn't mention what year your bike was. You dont HAVE to install the FP3, mine didnt have one when i bought it and had after market intake and exhaust but it backfired alot and i got that popcorn sound real loud when going down a hill. It also ran kinda hot, and didnt seem to have the same get up and go that it does now (after i installed the FP3 it took care of all that)

Had the FP3 on my 07 Superglide after I installed a SE Intake and rush slip ons, made a really big difference, bike ran cooler, no more decel pop and the mileage was good. If that is all the mods you are going to do I don't think you can go wrong with the FP3

No, it will not tune the bike itself. It will straighten up air fuel a bit. I see no way how they can call something tuning that doesn't address timing.

What's the best way to handle it then? $650.00 for Harley to "tune" it seems ridiculously high to me...

While I agree 650 is high for a proper tune, if you’ve seen what is involved in the 2-4hrs to get a given bike to run its best, you’d realize there is a lot more to tuning than what is represented by the propaganda put out by the product mfg.
