98acrsilver,

If you haven't solved your software problem. PM me your address and I can send you the CD from the street tuner I bought late last year (2013). It worked fine. I no longer need it as I bought the super tuner.

Just to change the subject a little bit. Does anyone know why I'm not able to select the Smart Tune feature on my SEPST. Im thinking it may be because my 06 nightrain doesn't have O2 sensors! Would this be right or am I just doing something wrong?? Thanks, Matt.

one reason is if you have not saved the tune, even when no changes are made I have run into this

Ok thanks guys. I got the tune off the list which was already in the bike from yesterday then brought it up on tune screen then I wanted to reflash it with smart tune and adaptive fuel checked but it only gave me the option to select adaptive fuel reset, enable smart tune was 'greyed out'

Is the afr table set up for closed loop? Some of the 141 cals are open loop.

Thanks Lonewolf, I never thought of that. I'm still new to all this tuning business. The map Im using is 141NU102.dt0 this was the closest 1 to my set up, but how do I tell if its setup for closed or open loop? I believe I need open loop for no O2 sensors is that correct? Thanks

Oz Nighttrain........as a previous poster said. You can not smart tune your system....that is why it is greyed out. No O2 sensors for feedback, no smart tune can occur. You have two choices that are reasonable cost....dyno tune it or get an aftermarket wide band O2 sensor and meter and have a bung installed in the header. Set the AFR at say 13 to 1 and ride. At whatever throttle setting you are outside the 13/1 ration, note whether it is rich or lean. Then change the VE table by a few points at that throttle setting, keep making the change until you get the AFRs to match what you are asking for.

This would be much faster and simpler on a dyne; but can be done by riding it .... at least for the areas of the VE map that you can ride in.

The AFR on the map needs to be something other than 14.6. That setting is the key to the ECM to run closed loop. Although I don't know if that will have any effect on your bike as you don't have the capability to run closed loop.
