Default Check engine light w/ PowerCommander

I've noticed after I installed my PowerCommander and did the Stage I upload that the check engine light comes on for a few seconds after I start the bike. It stays on for about 3-4 seconds and then goes off. Anyone else have this happen? Should I be concerned?

Thanks,
KB

Check for the code, they are in the DIY section. Depends on the year, check here down at the bottom https://www.hdforums.com/forumid_247/tt.htm

I'm getting code P1004: System Relay Contacts Closed EFI and Pn 32919-05 at the end. I disconnected the PC and ran the DIAG again and got the same thing. Something wrong with my stock ECM? Could I have damaged something during the install?

I get the same engine light on mine for about 4-6 seconds. I believe that the PC overides the ECM and thats why you get the fault. You could email the techies at powercommander.com and see what they say. They were pretty quick (day mabye 2) at answering some ? I had. Ed

I think I have the problem resolved now. During installation of the PC I think I caused an error code to be set. I needed to go in and clear the error code. Once the error code was cleared, no more extra check engine light (I hope, only ridden it for a day since clearing codes and light has not popped back on). I'm just guessing but I think if you have any error code set, whether it is current or a "historical" one (i.e. can be cleared and not reoccur), the check engine light is going to pop on after startup to indicate you need to check it. Go in and clear the code and see if that takes care of that pesky light [:@].

Sometimes the light can be a real PITA, but I guess it's really a good thing for us if you know how to use it.
