Thanks guys! It is good to be back.
Pitbull...........Yep, I am a happy man in that pic. It was so good to get away from all those people for a few hours and spend it with a few souls who enjoy riding on 2 wheels. Ten people with an intense common interest cannot be topped in my book!

Harley Bass...... No, we did not get further north than Glacier Bay. Skagway may be another trip if the wife has her way. She now talks about an interest in a future train trip. We will see if anything comes of it.
&nbsp\\;Alaska is the most beautiful place I have ever been. I never saw so much as a cigarette butt floating in the water at any of the ports we stopped at. Compare that to Galveston!!!
&nbsp\\;This was our second trip, the first being a driving trip back in 2000 in an Anchorage-Fairbanks-Valdez triangle after having flown into Anchorage. Plane tickets and airline travel is now getting to be a great hassle and getting $$$$ however. I hope to see pics of your bike soon! I am really curious to see it.

Supr2nr..........Thanks for the welcome back. Your machine looks like it is nicely finished out. How has it been running?
&nbsp\\;Well, the forum had problems just before I left and at times I could not get a post to go through. It seems better now, but I do not need to tell you guys it still ain't 100%. Let's hope the powers that be can get it back in shape soon. Later............pg

Well it ran.&nbsp\\; Let me put it that way.&nbsp\\; I got it off the rack and started it up and rode it to work one day.&nbsp\\; But I continuously had problems with the carb.&nbsp\\; It was running really lean and I had to keep the choke on to keep the bike running when I came to a stop.&nbsp\\; Took the carb apart cleaned it out for good measure, and changed the main jet from 340 back to a 330.&nbsp\\; When putting the main jet extender back in I over torqued it and the main jet extender broke&nbsp\\; I got a new one ordered and in (only like 4 bucks).&nbsp\\; I also decided to order a super b carb for backups because I got it for a really good deal.&nbsp\\; I started a thread on what was better the super e or the super b, most said get the E, but the B just has more response out of it.&nbsp\\; So I went that way.&nbsp\\;

Now if something happens with the mikuni I have the super b on the shelf ready to be put on.&nbsp\\;

&nbsp\\;I know you are aware of my opinion on a Mikuni carb, and I would think it would be trouble free for the most part.
&nbsp\\;Hope the jet change made things better. The Super B is a good idea as a backup, but why don't you put that on and see how the bike runs? Then use the Mikuni as a backup if the Super runs better than the Mikuni. I would sure be surprised if that were the case however.
&nbsp\\;I know zip about a Super, but everyone seems to like them from what I have heard........pg

Hmmmmmmm....
Shows now if I click on it. But the thumbnail is still blank.
&nbsp\\;
Very strange indeed.
&nbsp\\;
I'll bet they had some great seafood to eat up that way.

Great seafood? Gawd yes!
&nbsp\\;The food on the ship was as good a quality as I have ever eaten in my life. One of our group brought their 20 year old son along and one night John ate six plates of King Crab legs. They would serve as much as you wanted and for as long as you liked.
&nbsp\\;The ship was the Westerdam, of the Holland American Line. They must have world class chefs aboard.
&nbsp\\;By the way, if anyone is interested in doing a cruise, I certainly recommend looking into booking with Holland American Lines (HAL). I have not one single complaint about the service they provide. It would be a good way to rack up some points with the wife guys!
I do not know how they do it..........pg

I think your opinion's are the same as mine on the Mikuni.&nbsp\\; Honesly I have not had a problem with it besides it not being properly tuned and what damage I caused it.&nbsp\\; I think I will only try the super B only as a lets see what happens. I got it for 50 bucks so I couldn't really argue with it.&nbsp\\;

Glad you're back and had a semi-good time. I've been on a few cruises in the past and I love 'em, as long as there are enough port calls. Renting a bike is deffinately a good way to break up the monotony. And yes, the food is most excelent on every boat I've been on. The biggest&nbsp\\;dislike&nbsp\\;for me has been the fact that half of the ship is off limits to me just because of the smokers. The ships do a very poor job at ventalation and the bars, clubs, rec room, etc, that allow smoking are so filled with it, you can't see 10 feet&nbsp\\;into the room through the glass doors. Next cruise will be a smoke-free one.
&nbsp\\;
A train trip. Now that's a good trip in my book. Just sittin' back watching the country side roll by with&nbsp\\;the&nbsp\\;rythmic side-to-side rocking motion...&nbsp\\; My dad Grew up in Chicago and is BIG into trains. He has quite the colection of live steam engines he has built from the ground up. Has a 1/10 mile loop of track around the house and he gets them out frequently and runs all day. When we had the chance to do a trip from N.Y. back to Atlanta, we jumped at it and had a great time. We stopped in D.C. for a night and made the trip in 3 days I think. The scenery was increadable.

Pyro, did you get your problem squared away with your bike?

Yep, had to have been a piece of trash keeping the valve open and me playing with the pushrods and rocking the engine back and forth with the wheel must have loosened it up 'cause I got compression back and fired right up. I thought I updated that thread but I guess it was one of those times I tried to post and got another error and gave up.&nbsp\\; After that, I had problems with my regulator that I got sorted out and last night I had to retighten the swingarm and I got the hwy bars mounted. Hotel didn't work out for the Smoke Out so I leave tonight towards TN to a buddies house to ride the Cherahalla Skyway/Dragon Loop and then stay over in Gattlenberg a night. I'm deffinately going to run it through the paces.
