Harley announced in July that the Pan America would be coming for 2020. Apparently that is not clear to some people as some news places are saying 2020 Calendar Year and others are saying 2020 Model Year.

Being in a similar business (cars and trucks) we 100% think and talk in terms of Model Year. It is a well documented deviation if an announcement is talking about calendar year. I think Harley may be in a similar mode as well. So this is probably 80% likely to be 2020 Model Year.

Maybe it is just wishful thinking but I sure hope the Pan America is a 2020 Model Year bike. That would put the intro at this years introductions in July or August 2019! So, are we 7 to 8 months away?

The Harley web page for the Livewire says "Coming in 2019" It is not out yet and the other 2019 model year bikes are available. So it didn't come out as a 2019 mode year bike.

Harley's web pages say Coming 2020 and Launching in 2020. I don't take that necessarily as launching as a 2020 model. I take that as we will see it (hopefully) sometime in 2020.

And as excited as I am about the PA, I'll wait a year or two before buying one.

COMING 2020

PAN AMERICA™

Launching in 2020 is the first Harley-Davidson® adventure touring motorcycle, the Pan America™ 1250cc. The commanding riding position allows the rider to see the world from another point of view. Travel coast-to-coast. On road or off. All while experiencing your own adventures.

So we are way more than 7-8 months away from seeing the Pan American. I would bet closer to 18 months.

Guess I'll hold on to my 800 Tiger a couple more years. If you're in a hurry, the new Moto Guzzi V85TT looks pretty cool. Plus, it's air cooled

I am first on the refusal list at my local HD shop.... I miss both my Buell and my 1150 GS and kept all my ADV riding gear (Klim, Neotech and Sigi) when I moved on.....The big question for me will be is it time to flog the eGlide at the time and just keep the Panhead and the Pan American.... or keep all three... It will depend on how many miles I get on the Decker between now and then. The Decker has some bits I like to have when I ride long distance, and I am not sure I will give up those luxury's.
