Understandable. I had my gall bladder out and it was an extremely unpleasant experience. Part of why I held off on the CTS/Trigger Digit surgeries for so long... but now I regret waiting as long as I did. The hand surgeries were much less invasive, much less painful, and had a much quicker recovery. If they are able to do the orthroscopic surgery on you, you could be recovered in 5 days!! I was told I was too muscular for the scope surgery, so they had to do mine full open... recovery was 3 weeks or less per hand... and I gotta say, WELL worth it. Like I mentioned, it has greatly improved my quality of life. I'm no longer in constant pain and discomfort. That's just my $0.02, do whatever you feel is right for you, but I just wanted to give you my experience.

Sorry, I never checked my messages until today. I never received the risers because they were not in stock.I could not wait so I opted to change my bars to a bull horn type with 6" rise and 12" pullback. I did not have to change any cables, but had to buy a longer brake line. I also opted to wire the bars internally to clean up the look. Took about a day and a half to cut, solder and snake wires through bars. Looks good and had no problems. Since I had the bars off, I also changed the grips to Kury ISO. Very comfortable.
