I'm sorry to hear about your son, so very young to experience such a life changing event. Working Corrections is a dangerous job to mind, body and soul. Someday he will achieve balance again, not the same as before, but none the less a sense of peace. The struggles will of course will remain, as I am reminded each day. I have far to go yet, progress is measured in tiny increments.
The meds...often enough, several will need to be tried, dosage is critical, a balance between enough and too much can be tough to find. God speed.

I dont understand all the time but i do know this is not the same man that I raised. I love him unconditionally but distance is a factor in our relationship so it is not as if i can see him as often as we want. We do our 'throttle therapy' as well and in fact wil have our first ride this year together on Saturday with a group of other people. Im positive nothing but good will come of this and most certainly look forward to this happening.

Wish you well and please take care of yourself.

Read your post on HDF and couldnt help but respond to you.

I have a young son (31) who is/was a correcional officer at a youth facility here in Ontario. In June of 2014 he was gang attacked by 8 inmates, beaten and pummelled to an inch of his life. 47 seconds of absolute terror before other guards were able to intervene. He has been off work ever since and diagnosed with PTSD. His paranoia is all consuming some days and he cant function as a normal human being. He is under several doctors care and on meds that help his condition somewhat. Married with two young children and i see what effect it has on them. I would say I am his main release, always answer his many emails emails or texts and can tell by his choice of words what kind of day he is having. Doubt he will ever be able to work again at least in that field. If only i could take some of his pain and anguish away i would do that in a second.
