    Hey everyone.
Harley sells a 2 5/8 tachometer mounting plate for the handlebar on my 2018 road king.

When I try and get a tachometer, all the shops I have called can't figure out if or how a tach can be installed on the can-bus system.

Weird. There is already a tach on the LCD display on the speedometer, but when I am on dangerous mountain roads, I have to keep looking down at the speedo LCD to see RPMs and take my eyes off the road.

A handlebar tachometer would keep my eyes on the road safely while going up and down steep hills with cliffs on both sides of me (Emerald Bay, CA and certain places in the Rocky Mountains).

Why does Harley sell the handlebar tachometer mount for my 2018 road king but not the tach?
Can't I just get a 2013 police tach and wire it into the can-bus system?
What about an LCD handlebar tach using the same can-bus information that is on the LCD on the speedometer??

Thanks everyone for the help on the intermittent sumping issue. Harley service says nothing wrong and the company just ignores me.
Luckily, I always stop the bike immediately when it starts running rough- acting like a jackhammer (this happens when the motor is under load, climbing over mountain ranges or driving for more than an hour or so).
An S&S dual scavenging oil pump and a custom re-map for high altitude (screw the warranty) seems to have done the trick.
I'll get the S&S 465 gear driven cam, cam plate, pushrods, metal tappet guides and high capacity tappets put on next month.
After that, I'll take the Screamin eagle intake, and exhaust off and replace it with V&H intake, exhaust and fuel pack.
Then the motor will run like it is supposed to.

    Thanks again everyone.
