I've been searching for the right size Z bars for my Iron. I really like yours. Could you tell me a little about them and maybe your stats and how if they are comfortable? Where did you get them? Look real nice.
Hey Midnight. I rode a Road King with RK shocks and no air in them and it rode well. Horrid with air, by the way. My Nightster did not like the RK shocks though they were a tad better than stock. I don't think a Sporty has to be a tourer, but there is no reason it cannot have a good ride. I had cheap suspension before. Rode thousands of miles. But I am 49 now, like Sportys and just don't want to feel all the little bumps in the road. But if you can do it for 100 bucks and feel ok, why not?
just wanto to say your bike looks amazing! Your post on painting the motor inspired me to do the same. Was it a pretty hard job? Taping? Removing parts? Also what kind of paint did you end up using? Sorry for so many questions, but I really want to give it a go. Thanks in advance!
I have been all over the board on bikes, sold a gold wing to get the road glide, so far I love eveything about it, for my size I had to do a few mods, like the apes to get comfortable, the other comfort will be the Hammock seat, can't stretch out on the stock seat. The stock exhaust is horrible sounding, the V & H pro pro has a really deep base to it. its for a hopped up engine but it sounds great on a stock engine. the only real down fall is you CANNOT hear the stereo at 60 mph with the stock windshield, I invested 1500 in the stereo and another 500 until I found the right windshild. Would I buy it again YES, even considering the complete lack of power compared to a gold wing. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask, all in all I have 26000 wrapped up in mine which I figure isn't too bad for what it looks like and what some of the others have wrapped in in their bikes on this forum
