CoolFlow fan

Seeing that the frames are the same, i don't see why a guy couldn't install the fan and use it manually with a separate switch. It would still do lts job, just not automatically.

I took me good 3 hrs of sweat, frustrations,**** off, and so on.
it has poor instruction manual,Pics, especially the on,off switch.
you have to be a genius to assemble fan button to mount on switch body.
And after completed of installation Harley dealer has to updated, so call digitally update.
What the**** PITB.

Is it possible to install the fan on a touring bike before 17?
I only need on/off no automatic mode
in the service information picture 4 is the simple integration with the switch described
https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson....9?locale=en_US
why i need the update with the digital technican?

At my 1K service I had the dealer enable CoolFlow option in the ECM prior to installation. It of course threw a code until I got the fan installed a couple weeks later. Installation was easy peasy. Bike heat has never been an issue for us, but I thought I would hedge my bet nonetheless. 6k miles on our new 17 FLHTK. Bike has been great. No oil transfer, No spitting or puking anything, It did stumbled and die at a stoplight twice early on but I think she has grown out of that nonsense. Would buy again and recommend if you ride in hot climates.

I wonder whether it would help too, to bring more airflow to the rear cylinder which tends to runner hotter. I had issued with the sputter thought maybe going from 2003 with Cable to Hydraulic.....sure a thin band there. Only problem I had was twice a check engine code which was 02 sensor rear running rich.
