Spectro Platinum Six Speed gear lube. Mainly because I like the company. And it is RED so if you have a leak someday it a little easier to figure out. Keep in mind not much difference in 75w140 and 20/50 engine oil. They use different methods to measure them . It the same was used they would come out close.

Who the heck knows if one brand is better than another. Many HD gear boxes run a life time with no issues on nothing but plain old HD transmission lube. In my 07 the Spector made a difference in how it shifted . In every one once sense then I have not noticed any really difference.
GL-5 is over kill no way to deny that , but on a lube where you will use 1 quart every 10-20 K depending on program you follow what difference does the few bucks make. Spectro, Belray, M1, amsoil are all quality products.

Just food for thought. Back in 2009 when the MOCO rolled out the new & improved touring bikes one the the new items was a new transmission. These new trannys had a straight cut gear for 1st and 5th gear. The idea being that a straight cut gear is stronger and over the long run it was going to work out better.
Almost from day one new buyers were complaining of "noisy" transmissions to the dealers service department. The dealers got tired of defending this straight cut gear in 1st and 5th so they began to tell buyers to put heavy gear oil in the transmissions. Well, that did make them much quieter all right but it proved to cause lubrication problems down the road 10-15,000 miles. There were a number of bearing issues that had to be addressed by replacement. The heavier after market gear lubes did not provide the needed lubrication for the close proximities of a Harley 6 speed gear set. But, of course the bikes were long since out of warranty so it was on the buyer. It was not long before they took out the straight cut gears in the transmissions and reverted to conventional gearing. Today I don't hear near as much talk about going to heavy gear oil in the 6 speeds in order to quiet them down. Until now!

When you look at gear lube 75-140 ect . It is miss leading they measure gear lube and engine oil with different methods not a major difference in 20/50 and the gear lube if tested by the same methods .
Get to heavy in the gear box and it will not provide proper lube in cooler temps.
The complain of gear whine in 6th started with the 2007's
