Obviously, the crankcase is NOT a good place to put your gas cap when re-filling.

The way the balancer is bent, I suspect that the balancer gears slipped and the balancer weight ran into the lower rod.. When that occurred the front of the case blew out.. Look at the balancer. It's both bent and twisted.

Oh well. They can buy up all of the new 2016's that are still taking up 80% of the floor space at my local dealer. I'm fine being the odd man out with the new M8. Still love it so far.

You taught me something new. Given that, there is a chance HD could sell me a touring bike that's oil cooled (only). I always wanted a Tour Glide, so maybe a Road Glide without a top box and 13" suspension in the back.
