I have K&N, Fuel Header, Tab Zombie, PV with Wide O2, Fuel moto tune... Sounds very much like a Harley mixed with a Nascar V8... like it a lot.

My Bassani header is a 2-1-2 that the stock heat shields fit over. Fit any mufflers you wish to these. To me, coupled with Rineharts, they sound most like the "old" Harley sound although I needed a cam to get it right, plus my bike is tuned to its full potential with a Pro Super Tuner......I suspect this makes a difference too.

have Rinehart Slimline Duals and Rinehart 4" slip ons with High flow AC and a PV Tune.

Not a fan of the sound..

I want deeper and more Harley like.. (yes I understand the sound of the M8 will be different) However I still feel like there are better sound combos out there.

I only want to change out one

so trying to decide which is the better route.

remove the Slimline Duals and go bassani 2-1-2 or something similar (not a fan of the looks of the V&H x pipe) and keep the current slip ons

or keep the slimline duals and trade out the 4" Rinehart slip ons for a deeper more aggressive set of slip ons.

Still want High quality which the Rinehart appears to be.

Still newer to this.. which is a better route to take?

Was thinking if I did slip on change out perhaps the SS MK45's

heard the Rinehart motopro 45's not a big enough change in sound.

or perhaps the Vance and Hines 4.5" line like the High Outputs

Any recommendations?

THANKS

The Bassani headers (2-1-2) with Rineharts sound totally different to the full Rinehart Slimline duals, a deep rumble, which is why I decided against the Slimlines. I went the Bassanis based on what I know of their products and the sound they generate. I went the Rineharts because they have that great mellow deep note which compliments the Bassani throb for want of a better description.

I think my M8 sounds most like my old Harleys and at $399 the Bassani headers won't break the bank. I've posted a sound clip at idle for you before.

That's right.. you have Oz

I am definitely toying with the idea of trying a different header and leaving the 4" rineharts.

If I left the slimlines I would probably be leaning towards MK45's or RCX 4.5's

Resurrecting this o”dc thread, for an update inquiry.

on my ‘17 Limited M8 I have:
- stock headpipe
- broken in Screaming Eagle Street Cannons
- HD Torque Cam
- SE AC
- SE canned map

im Happy with the performance and sound. But, I’d like to remove the cat, to reduce the heat on my foot. But, I don’t want to change the sound.

Does anyone have this set up, with a gutted HD header...and how does it sound?

I remember someone with a heat gun on a youtube video showing like a 4 degree difference without the cat. IMO I think all this heat with CAT talk is in the owners head vs reality.

If I can find the video I'll share. It was same day removal and 30 mins of riding when both temps were taken.

Thanks. That’s interesting.. I’ve wrapped my pipes, and they are tolerable. But, I was in mid 80s ambient yesterday...and my right foot got a bit warm...and it reminded me that I was considering gutting the cat.

Going back to my earlier post, I believe that if you remove the cat, it will run lean, which will make it sound "tinny", so you need to add fuel to the tune. And from what I understand, the SE tuner will not add fuel, just adjust timing.

...is that why your location is listed as; in your head???
I put an S&S headpipe on my '18 Ultra to cool it off because it
was cooking my wifey's right leg. (not to mention me)
Now, it doesn't.
Matter of fact, I considered putting the stock pipe back on
for winter riding. Just to have some warm air..............
