Mine are pointed up, as shown in HD photo in your post #6.

 

The two piece 4.5" is what I have. Mine face up.

 

So they all do it. No biggie actually. I really love how these pipes perform and only have about 50 miles on them. Funny how yours don't do it though Lyorik.

 

Cool...from that angle and small pic they look like the blunts.

 

I’ve had about 7 people message me when I comment on threads about the gurgle. A few have changed out to the two piece and came back to say “thanks, that solved it”. The two in my HOG chapter I mentioned before were chomping at the bit to buy some other slip-ons as they hated the gurgle that much (as did my wife). They changed to two-piece and it went away.

Maybe the two piece gurgle is less than the other cannon tips; those without one piece experience notice the two piece gurgle, and those with experience of one piece tips with more gurgle perceive the two piece as having no gurgle (relative to one piece tips).

 

When I posted this last night I was using my Iphone app. Now that view the pics on my desktop....I was mistaken. I have the blunt slash up/down/out 4.5's on my bike.

 

I bet you’re right...didn’t think of it that way.

I have the PN 65100078 and mine "gurgles".. Perhaps this is a stupid question but I have to ask... What do the caps have to do with the sound of the pipes? I thought they were just for looks. Maybe certain caps direct the gurgling sound so it's not as obvious? I've noticed the noise but it really hasn't bothered me but can be a tad annoying if you're on and off the throttle constantly in traffic..
