i like the looks of them but have been told it changes the tank pickup point so you actually have less useful tank capacity. Anyone confirm this? With my 2.1 peanut, i need all the help i can get...

With my 3" front lift and no rear adjustment, what I experience is my reserve light coming on earlier than it should. According to the amount of fuel I put into my tank when the light comes on, I have 5 liters or 1 1/3 gal of fuel left in the tank when my light comes on. That means I have about 55 mi or 88 km to go before I'm bone dry. I've run well over 50 km after the light came on without issue but have never pushed it to the absolute limit of my estimation for obvious reasons.
I just go by the light and when it comes on, I stop for gas at my next best opportunity. Some guys use their odometer as they don't trust reserve lights. Others seem to find ways to recalibrate things, or so I read, but I honestly don't see the point. You know your tank's capacity and how much it takes to fill it after going by whatever indicator you've used. Its a one time observation you commit to memory then carry on.
If the lift robs you of "usable" fuel, it can't be a hell of a lot from what I'm experiencing but I do have a 5 gal tank so I'm sort of comfy in my skin as far as when to re-fuel goes.
Dunno if all this helps but yes, the lift throws things off but by so little its hard to imagine it being an issue to normal riding.

Wondering if the gas tank lifting kits are worth it there suppose to help in cooling the motor and improve air flow. Has anyone tried them on there Bikes yet heard they can get in the way of our turning radius. Not sure if there worth the upgrade???
Tested a lift kit and the data logged engine running temperature did not change at all. It may help redirect a little of the heat away from your riding position but the engine in the same conditions before and after did not change.
Great info thanks to all still not sure about this upgrade going to have do a test lift and see for my self. Plus no benefits on cooling the engine its up in the air again may not be worth it on a cruiser.
Think about it. If it helped a Harley motor or rider, It wouldn't cost Harley a dime to change the height of their tanks. They would of done it years ago when they built bigger motors. Save your money or spend it on something worthwhile.
"Snake oil"...I ran the tank lift and Love Jugs on my 2018 RGS with NO change in engine temp according to my Power Vision. Also note that I had a fan assisted oil cooler and lowers on the bike.
