Just out of curiosity, have any of you guys with the fan-assisted oil cooler experience the sumping issue?

An oil cooler of any kind would have zero to do with an engine sumping or not.

I was just curious because the sumping issue appears to happen when the engine gets really hot. The fan-assisted oil cooler has been shown to reduce oil temps by like 30 degrees, if I remember right.

I think it's more of a case of that the engine gets hot because it's already sumped. Oil has collected in the sump, so there's no oil available for lubrication and for oil cooling, and so it gets hot...

Only common denominator I've seen on the sumping issue is they have had performance work done like stage 2 to 4 kits and ***** out dyno runs.

Has nothing to do with dyno runs or heat. Predominantly stage 3 or 4 bikes, but not always. Been through 3 stock 107s, now on an 18, we'll see.

What are you doing I'm not, seriously ? I ride the **** outa mine, hotrod it as hard as I ever did the shovel and no issues ...... yet. Only thing I do little of is high speed long highway runs, hard to do around here unless I want to make a 500mi. day to get away from traffic.

TwiZted I ride mine like you do, it sees 5500 virtually every time I ride it, and 6000 often. I am 54 but still ride hard like I did decades ago. I rode mine for a bunch of 30+ mile runs, at 85-100 MPH on the 17 near Phoenix, and on the 40 between Flagstaff and Needles last year with temps in 80’s-90’s. This was after I installed the Stage II parts at 1100 miles. Had 2200 miles on the clock when we left, 3600 when we got back. Notice I said “we”, as this was all loaded to the gills two up. And I had not yet installed the fan assisted oil cooler. No transfer, no sumping. Didn’t miss a lick...

Seligman, Old Route 66:

Last pic was early in the a.m. on the last day of the trip, left Flagstaff and rode nearly 500 hard miles to make it home.

Here's Harley's dilemma in a nutshell. Because they are so tied to the "air cooled" V-Twin, from a marketing standpoint, they are unable to successfully make significant strides in power delivery.

Ever wonder why a Honda Civic RS that has a 2.0 liter engine can reliably pump out over 300hp?

The largest common denominator is increased displacement combined with higher RPM. More common in 114, 117, 120 and up than 107. There are some builds getting into the 140 range.
