Who plans on buying a 2019

Put my deposit down on my 19 street glide special last Saturday. Just curious who all else plans on buying a new bike or maybe getting one. I ordered mine in the two tone scorched orange and black denim.

fegod 08-16-2018 05:50 AM

If I dont get a smoking deal on a 2018 SGS, I will be buying a 2019.

Powerstroke381 08-16-2018 06:40 AM

I got a great deal on trading in my 17 at my local dealer gave me 3k over clean retail for my bike they are giveing me more for it than I have for the bike so I can’t pass it up. Sales manager told me they should arrive on the truck the 22nd or 23rd and be on the floor soon after. My bike is not coming in on the first shipment so I’m not real sure when they will have my bike come in.

TomcatCV62 08-16-2018 06:44 AM

Im thinking about a 2007 softail custom to add to my collection......... does that count?

My dealer doesn't require a deposit, but the first scorched orange and black denim street glide special that comes in has my name on it !!

I’m hoping they do the paint similar to how they did the 18 cvo bikes if they do it will be one bad ass color with an all black motor.

How much did the list price go up from last year?

jamala00 08-16-2018 11:37 AM

I'm planning on it... Going to demo days next Fri at my local dealer. We'll see what happens.

fatfatboy 08-16-2018 12:38 PM

I am considering a 19 Road Glide but it will have to be orange or forget about it.

I'm really on the fence between buying a low mileage used one or a new one. There are so many good prices on used ones with no miles that it makes it very tempting. The '17 Road Glide in orange is very nice but I'm leery of buying a used '17 because of the issues some folks had.

I've yet to ride an M8. I've been kind of avoiding it because most things I've heard is so positive I'm pretty sure I'd make the leap. I'm thinking about renting a Road Glide for a week to make sure I want to give up one of my softails for a Road Glide.
There is a demo days coming up but a 10 mile ride just isn't enough for me to decide.

Gozzie 08-16-2018 12:42 PM

If the 114 comes in a touring model that I like. I know the basic Road King will be a 107 so that's out. Of course that's the one I was after. I may have to go Police and convert it to a passenger model again.

it shouldn’t be more than $3-400.00. Seeing they went up $2,400.00 in 2018.

If they gave him trade numbers they had to start at MSRP,

jd05flhtci 08-16-2018 02:21 PM

I would imagine prices for the specials will go up another 1300 considering the 114 is the power plant. I just bought an 18 RGS almost 2 weeks ago and got a pretty good deal. The 114 would be nice but i expected the price would increase.

I plan to get one but I'm letting the early adopters check it out first...

I don't see why, the RG special in 2016 had the 103 and went to the 107 in 2017 with only a $500.00 price jump. In 2018 the special went up $2400.00.

prolly because the 18 specails came out with stretched backs and blacked out.

oh i agree. I would rather have chrome anyway. So it didnt bother me that bad when the 18s came out all blacked out right after i bought my 17. However it did tick me off i lost out on the stretched bags. I will may trade my 17 for a 19 if the deal is right and they have a color i like with stretched bags and chrome etc.

I like chrome I just hate polishing it. I can clean this bike with a whores bath.. I would rather be riding .

Powerstroke381 08-16-2018 04:19 PM

I know a lot of guys like the chrome a lot I do not like the chrome as well as the blacked out. If the don’t have the blacked out motor and all again I’m going to be disappointed.

nobodyknowsme 08-16-2018 04:44 PM

I talked to the salesman and service manager a while ago on trading my 17 and transferring the parts to a new Road Glide. At the time they told me the cost to do the swap would be $3,750. Since I have only added more so just not feasible for me. Now if I happen to stumble over a bag of money....

CVO Limited went up $1950 from 2017 to 2018. The increase was $2950 if you compare the 2017 CVO Limited to the 2018 CVO Limited Anniversary.

Did they give you the new list price,If not how could they show you a worked up deal?

No list price is not out yet. They gave me any hand typed and signed contract basically. My guess for the scorched orange msrp will be in the 28-30 area.

shorelasHD 08-16-2018 05:32 PM

A 2019 what? I'm fighting off the urge to get a 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 400 for a 'Practice" bike. One of the new 2019 MoCo "naked" bikes would be a welcome addition to the stable, MAYBE with a Livewire, although I'm leaning strongly toward an Energica for my first EV. Time will tell...:icon_nic:

I just do not like the harley style stretched bags. It's like the did it half way and then stopped and said that's good enough. I want enough stretch to wrap my mufflers.

So I dont hate I missed it on the 18 specials having those bags versus my 17

agreed on that...did chrome on my first few bikes. Now that I’m older and on a touring bike..I want to wash, rinse, leaf blow, and touch up with some spray wax and go! 60 minutes tops with a few touch ups from water drips down the road

Yeah that’s the CVO’s. Been there done that. Total waste of 💰 💰 💰 IMHO that I won’t do again. But if you want to play you gotta pay.

Tonebender 08-17-2018 05:43 AM

Good possibility that I will get a 2019 but my target has been a 2020. If all the problems are ironed out and they get rave reviews, maybe a low mileage used '19 next summer right before the 20's come out. Save myself a little cash.

I like it so far the counterbalance shake free engine allows for riding days in the future (arthritis in both hands) I have put 1000 miles on it so far. I still believe it rides like a metric bike but still harley.. I will probably leave it stock for now. Thanks for asking.

I will probably wait until Feb 2019 to buy SGS as well... assuming all the M8 issues are resolved and MoCo revise the bike like they did with the Softail range... mono shock frame, 114ci, LED all around, modern design touches, etc.,

badcooky 08-17-2018 07:15 AM

Might grab me a Livewire next year I think if they're out !

Yep, you gotta pay up if you want it all. Personally I would only want a CVO. Too many options I’ve come to enjoy when riding. If they were launching a ‘19 CVO RGU I would be all over it. But it looks like the CVO RGU won’t come out till 2020.

If they have some unique upgrades for ‘19 and sharp CVO paint, I’ll be getting a ‘19 CVO Limited. We’ll see soon enough. Just a few more days.
