Lack of threads on Sumping these days. Issue fixed?

Its been a few weeks since I logged in but last time I did there was 5-6 post about another one sumping. When I logged in today there wasn't one on the first page so I am hopeful this means the plate fixed it.
That or have people grown weary of being told they are full of it when they post and how everyone had had thousands of trouble free miles so the OP must be doing something wrong?
For the record my 17 CVO sumped on me big time and got where I could make it sump at will. I made 3 trips to different dealers before the last one followed 1450 and actually inspected my internals. According to the shop manager (Friend of mine) my motor looked perfect inside so they buttoned it back up but installed the new cam plate as the pump had been swapped by the previous dealer. The motor being perfect was a complete shock to me since the last sump, it stopped running because the Crank sensor melted from the heat.
I have not had time to really ride it much and the temps are lower so the real test will be next time we get temps up and I can ride. I am hoping this is the fix.
Thoughts?

I think we're all tired of reading sumping threads and will be quite happy when people stop starting new ones.

Sumping...that's so last everyday

Harley seems to think that the plate fixes it. They have updated TSB 1450, and they don't list any 2019 models on it at all, implying that 2019s are not subject to sumping.

We had a couple of reports of it happening on early 2019s, and since then I guess they determined that the very first 2019s manufactured were made before the new plate was introduced. I don't think we've seen any reports of a 2019 with the plate/seal sumping.

Quite a different story from when an individual on here was calling for a complete M8 redesign!

I am sure some have had the issue. There are also a lot of us that have not even with some miles . That might enplane it.

When sumping threads out number oil threads

Jehu 10-29-2018 07:18 PM

Is there a thread about which oils sump more/less in M8 engines?

Those of use invested int he M8, in my case an early (March) 2018 manufacture date, don't like the sumping threads or the gloom and doom of the M8 threads - but we can't help but to look ... not unlike a train wreck!

Yep, they still do it but you can only say it so many times before everyone (except HD) has heard it enough. As long as it's not yours, it's fine, but once it is then the shit fly's.
