Would be a good poll question with the amount of bikes affected the feedback should be telling.

His video's would be more watchable if he wasnt behaving like a yutz. Just get to the point, no weird facial expressions, etc. The video could have been about 5 minutes shorter, and much less annoying. Plus I agree, I question his skills and professionalism when performing this service.

That was the first thing I thought.. If HD changed the piston seal so that it had more flex and changed the spring shown in the middle of the piston to a lighter one, The piston may have a little more post lift movement. The movement would translate to the friction zone moving closer to the grip.. It's an "out there" idea.. Air in the system is a possibility for sure.

Many reports of broken bolts using the torque specs in the manual. I do most other than axle nuts and head flange nuts by feel.

Or sripped out holes. On 1/4-20 I stay way below the spec in the manual expect for critical places like cam plates and oil pumps.

http://www.futek.com/boltcalc.aspx

Use 1/4-20 grade 8 into 6061 and 3/8 depth and you get 87 in-lb. The 117 in-lb is more of a one time only TQ. Even at 87 the reads in the aluminum will wear. I tq to 90 in-lb on cam plates. Covers don't need that much but more then covers that don't have any gasket to seat on.. Covers without gaskets like the clutch cover only need 40-60 in-lb.

I ended up with lots of free play after the clutch recall fix. Can't be good so bikes going back in Sat, the guy doing the recall fix at my shop is not getting another shot. I'll be seeing my go to mechanic.
The clutch recall in July 2016 said that one thing to watch for is too much free play. Air is a possibility and I would bleed it my self but I want the dealership to check it out just in case the other tech introduce some contamination when replacing the seal.

I tried to upload a video of my free play but I need some coaching on how to do that properly.

mine doesn't have free play, as in pulling in easily before stiffening up..just engages sooner upon releasing clutch..going to start a poll..should be no shortage of feedback and will be interesting to see others' results
