i seen a video from tman performance couple months ago he believes it’s loose manufacturing process of the cases which leads to the pickup size not being consistent. He also thought of attaching a oil scraper to reduce buildup.

edit: I think you’ll find it interesting

Hey Max I'm just wondering what your original theory on oil pump scavenge problems with a single scavenge gear are since a rider over on HTT reported that the S&S pump didn't fix the problem for him. When he asked S&S about it they said it wouldn't fix the problem if it already was there beforehand. He replaced the S&S pump with the latest HD pump & plate & hasn't had any problems since. I'm not questioning your theories as they seemed sound & fixed your TC problems, just wondering mostly on your educated guess as to why the oil pump plate & seal seems to work? I too think it's a combo of things that contribute to the sumping issue, I have a 17 RG with 41K, with 23K as a Stg 2 & have had no problems with sumping, I put in the latest pump just for insurance, but the pump cover & seal wasn't available at that time. Curious also if you're planning to do more engine upgrades after your warranty expires.

So, if your’s has not sumped, and your idea of the cause is merely a hypothesis, how do you know that is the cause and your fix is a solution?

Only a Engineer or Race engine builder would ask that question.

No one on this site is going to figure out the sumping problem. They are all WAGs, The reason for that is to be able to find the problem you first have to be able to repeat the problem. That takes resources that I doubt anyone here has, such as engines off the assembly line, a lab, controlled protocols, etc. If you don't have that you are pissing in the wind.

Bingo. An engineer with 37 years of product development experience. 5 of those in reliability and failure analysis.
