I aint "Skeerid" of the M8, just being honest of my feeling about them. I also don't know or how to use any "fancy" words. I have owned a 1954 Panhead, a couple of Shovelheads & now on my 3rd new Sportster. I tought & looked "HARD" at the Street Bob. As a "Mechanic" I know my limits and "Skills" with the 1200 engine, with M8 I don't have a clue. Also my pockets aint all that "deep". My intent is NOT to "Stir the Pot". I hope the best for the M8, Will be very interesting to see how they hold up "long time". The Sporty engine has been around snice 1954 or so? I like to look and SOUND good when I ride, I like it when people say "wow" I want that bike. On the Street Bob, I couldn't even hear it run. To boring fer me.

Ok so ya aren't scared. That's nice, but you are ignorant.... talking about problems that don't exist. Now get on to your sporty forum and have fun.

Have a hard time believing u arent trying to stir the pot. U have owned a pan and a couple shovels, that suprises me. Just curious , u said u couldnt even hear the m8 street bob run. Were u talking valve train or exhaust? Cant imagine a 1200 sporty and a street bob with stock exhaust sounding much diffrent.

Im talking about the exhaust, I did the "stage one" on the sporty, sounds like a Harley. on the Street Bob,stock, it sounds like poopie...……...but nothing can be done UNLESS the warranty is voided. On some of the new bikes you can spend 30000 thou or more, not sure many would wanna void the "So-Called" warranty on something with a price tag like that, and even if you did, hard to get that "classic sound"

yeah, don't really get the point of this post..my takeaway from it is;

I bought a Sportster because I prefer it over an M8 and I just wanted to let as many M8 owners as I can know that, and decided an M8 Forum is the best place to accomplish my objective.

So on the sporty, u did a stage 1 and the street bob stock? That sounds like a fair comparison. If u are looking to get that classic sound, go back to your big twin shovel or even a evo. U aren’t going to get that out of the bike u have now

Sounds a lot like someone couldn't afford an M8, and is trying (desperately) hard to justify riding a sporty.
