Hill assist happens when you are at a stop on a hill either up or down and while in gear press the hand brake in a little extra and the assist take over where you can let go of brake and when you roll on the gas hill assist releases. Similar to limited slip in your car or truck. Also the hill doesn't have to be that step to work.

Just got my 2020 Ultra Limited, Stiletto Red....love it! I agree, the RDRS is a great feature which includes the hill assist.
