Default Tip for removing gas tank emblem glue

Just finished removing factory emblem on gas tank and found that using WD-40 with Magic Eraser made by Mr. Clean worked well.

WD40 is ok but I would never put a magic eraser on my paint! Yikes

I used magic eraser on some gunk that was splattered on my car fender.
All I can say now is that I'm really glad that it was just a small spot.

My wife ruined the clear coat on our Tahoe door years ago using a magic eraser. Still a running joke in our house.

3M adhesive remover is what the paint shops use. So I use it as well

The consensus here for anyone clicking on is DO NOT use a magic eraser on your paint!

I've used the spray on brake cleaner for years. Won't harm the paint and it works great.

Just remember to put some wax or polish on afterwards because the cleaner strips any and all paint protection that was there, same for WD40, they do work though.
