Even a basic set of Progressive rear shocks will improve it front end need a re spring as well. Started with the rear shocks on mine my spine is much happier now! Can’t believe the lame stock suspension.

My 2019 FLHTP with 114 engine rode nice on stock shocks up to 11,000 miles. Then I replaced the stockers with adjustable rebound and dampening shocks with a spring for my weight. Made a great improvement.

If you bike has stock 12 inch shocks, you'll need to upgrade to shock suitable for how you ride and load the bike.

I felt the same thing when I first got my bike in 2017 but after realizing the preload table is all wrong, I settled on it at 15 for riding solo ( I weight 200 and have a HD King Tour pack) I find it rides just fine. Would high end shocks improve it, sure but I'd have to find an apartment because my wife would kick my *** out, lol.

I've always set my sag around 30% with the help of my wife...we're fortunate out West for the most part with excellent roads so that makes a difference in tolerance..sure, I swerve to avoid certain rough spots and in my travels experience some spine jarring jolts from time to time..but after riding just shy of 100,000 miles on M8 suspension, nothing compelled me to throw a lot of money at something that's trivial to me...tires, gas, oil and brakes are the things I always 'need'

Man, my bone stock 17 RK rides like my recliner couch, some of you boys need to spend time on older sleds to get your perspective back

Thanks for all the great feed back. There is a stretch of road near me that is awful but seems worse on my latest bike. Its a 2019 electra glide standard. I still have the electra glide classic 2007 and a 1998 Heritage Springer. So far the M8 is the roughest of the three. That being said Im still working on finding the best setting for the rear shocks. Im around 250 Lbs and have tried it on 8 thru 13 so far. I have the Harley chart but don't think it works for me. The next time out Ill have it at 15. I think the low profile tires was a excellent observation. Some upgraded shocks and springs in the front forks are probably in my future.

If you’re riding with the stick HD Dunlop’s, they are stiff as well and (to me) are contributing to the harsh riding.

Look at the number's you'll find the 19 is a heavier than both those machines, rides going to be different. Took me a while to find my happy spot with the stock shocks on my 17 RK , Don't make radical adjustments, do it a bit at a time what I found worked the best with the M8 system.

Yes it still has the original Dunlaps so I guess Ill see if its better when they are replaced. Also that's a good idea to do adjustments very gradually. Thanks
