I would be careful here, the part numbers I posted below are Plug and Play for 14-18 bikes, the radios coming off the 19's + will not be recognized w/o the soundz Harness is what I have been told.. FWIW I installed A Batwing unit in my 15 RG CVO with little mod to the fairing, had to clip couple of tabs so the unit can sit flush in its place.

I've read and understood that as long as the GTS radio has the latest software on it - MY21.20.28.00 and then a factory reset of the HU, it will be backwards compatible with 14-18 bikes.

 

I have seen some post where people who have bought the units made for 19 + bikes, and the only way they got it to work was to find a dealer or friend willing to install their newly acquired radio into a 19 + bike to have it updated, that was the only way to make it compatible to 14-18 Rushmore's. They were not able to update the radio from their bikes 14-18.

 

You can have the dealer upgrade the GTS software if it wasn't done previously before being removed from a 19-20 bike, or if the radio already has software MY20.19.20.01 or the latest version MY21.20.22.00 on it and it's reset to factory defaults (reset pre calibration) before it's disconnected from the 19-20 bike, then it will be ready to install on a 14-18 bike.

 

Hope it works out, the GTS is an awesome upgrade, night and day to the GT.
