Default Insurance rate increase?

Just wondering IF something is going on with motorcycle insurance rates that I'm not aware of. I just got my renewal notice (from Allstate) and my new premium has increased more than $300/yr. and on a policy that last year was about $350 in full. I know that there are a lot of variable factors in underwriting but since nothing has changed from last year I'm wondering if the industry is just raising prices overall? (no claims, no tickets...no nothing)......my agent had no answers, which was upsetting.

Obviously, I began pricing around and both Progressive and State Farm (State Farm insures my home and 2 cars) had the best rates, so I'll be switching.

Just wondering if others are getting big increases like I experienced?

Companies test the water with you they pick a few and raise it see what happens. Unless something about you has changed that would be a good cause. Shop around and move on to a better deal.

My policy for three vehicles (two cars and one bike) went up about $350 this year. When I called I was told that because health care costs have increased, all of the coverage related to medical expenses is now more expensive.

I've never had any insurance go down. Even if you never make a claim, it'll still go up to compensate for the others that do because the insurance company isn't going to lose any money.

Years ago, I had a company cancel my shovelhead insurance after a year or two, saying it was too big. I said..."well it didn't grow. It was that size last year." Either way...

My bike and car insurance both went down this year. Can't really complain.

Was with Geico for years then they raised my rates slowly...so went with State Farm and they did same..now back to Geico...had 32k damage from the last hurricane and my home ins went up only 180.00 for next year...insurance rates are also tied to your credit score,so if anything changed that could’ve triggered a rate increase

Insurance rates rising due to the storms this past year from Texas thru Florida.
Had Geico rep tell me rates rising in TX due to all the homeowner claims, auto claims, motorcycle claims from Corpus to Houston..

You should look at carriers which don't write home and auto, but specialize in motorsports. This will alleviate the company's requirement to recoup from natural disasters.

I have had SAFECO for the past three years. They went up every year by 5%. I shopped around this year and found much better deals at GEICO, eSurance, and Markel. Went with Markel after checking out their ratings, and online and BBB reviews.

I also dropped SAFECO for my cars as well.

Over here in NYC insurance goes up because of A**holes SportBike Riders getting into accidents for riding like maniacs and causing accidents ruining it for those that ride safely.
