Default HD Insurance...anyone have it?

I have progressive on all our bikes.
Before I call to get a quote, does anyone have Harley Davidson Motorcycle Insurance, and how do you like it?

Yep, I have Progressive and was going to switch to Harley, the Harley agent said you already have Progressive; that is what Harley is. It is also what USAA sells as M/C insurance. I couldn't bundle because the USAA auto is USAA and the M/C is Progressive.

I looked at it earlier this year but it was about $80 more than Geico so I stayed with Geico

Harley insurance was darn near half of what I was paying at Geico and that was less than I was paying at Progressive. Haven't had to use it but I like the price for the coverage.

I got quotes from Progressive and Harley a few years ago, at that time Harley was Progressive and the rate quotes I got back from each were identical.
Geico for me was quite a bit cheaper for the same coverage, so I am with Geico for bike and Cars. Each renewal period I get as many quotes as I can stomach,
Geico still for me is lowest cost.

Harley Insurance is no longer Progressive based. It got lots cheaper. I had Progressive for 11 years. Never had a single claim. Then I had one claim for $500 comprehensive, no accident, and they doubled my rates. It did not matter to them I had paid about $500 a year for 11 years before this one claim. That flat sucked so I changed.

I bought it over going through State Farm, but I also called up HD Insurance and had the agent play with the coverages. You don't have to go with one of the 3 basic options they provide you with at the dealership. If you don't want an additional $3k of coverage for "extras" or an extra $1K for protective clothing coverage, have them take it off. It gets cheaper. I think mine is gonna cost like $22 a month, SF wanted $44, and that was adding it to coverage on two other vehicles and home insurance.

I bought my bike on 7/26/18 and was told the claims are handled by Progressive.

Interesting since my payments do NOT go to Progressive, they go to a different company. Progressive wanted twice what HD Insurance wanted so it's hard to believe they would handler their claims. Was the person who told you that a Harley Employee that may not be aware there was a change or did you actually get that info directly from the Insurance company??
