The one time I was there they werent allowing any traffic on the bridge. But we did walk over it. I think that may be better. It is an awsome site

Hey FLHT, Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to get a picture of me and the bike on the bridge but we will see if not it will be a great trip. I have lived in Colorado Springs for about three years now and still haven't been down there yet. It is a good excuse to take my bike out for a nice ride. Hopefully some of my buddies will want to ride down as well.

I have ridden across it a couple of times and it is a fun experience. There are a lot of other things in the park also, like a ride to the bottom of the canyon, and a cable car across the canyon.

There are also a bunch of welfare deer that hang around trying to get people to feed them. Not really legal to do so, but bread works well so I've heard.

Take the back road from Springs to Canyon City. That is a nice ride. Since you will be close, go ahead and take the road from Canyon City to Selida. That is a nice ride and you will probably see some Rocky Mountain Bighorns in the lava canyon just before Selida.

Have a good ride.

So far, none of the times I've been at the bridge on my bike were they were allowing vehicles of any kind to cross because of winds ...

Bein a Native Coloradoan, you would figure the odds would be in my favor to find a day the bridge was open to vehicles !!!

40+ years later and still nada !!! <LMAOROTF>

Guess they only let ferriners and other assorted tourists drive across !!! <lol>

Ok Dino....is it called "Bee-yunnie" or "Bu-wena" Vista? How about "La-Hoonta" or "La-Junta"? How about "Boulder" or "Wack-hole"?

I'm teasing too.

I'm not sure I'd WANT to ride across that thing. Walking across was bad enough...I was clinging like a cat!
