Midwest rider new to HD
Hello all. After several years of riding sport bikes I've finally switched over to the more comfortable and much better sounding world of Harley Davidson. Purchased a 2000 XL1200C last week and have been loving every second of it. Other than some random chrome bits added on, its got the screamin eagle intake and exhaust. I'm assuming some jetting work was done to the carb as well but havent had the chance to get into it yet. I'm the 3rd owner I believe and in the last 4 years its only had about 1000 miles put on with the total just over 17k.
On the backburner I've got a '78 Honda CB750 resto/mod project going in my spare time. Currently the engine is apart and has been rebored. All top-end internals are being replaced. Currently waiting for warmer weather to get things repainted and slapped back together! If you're interested you can follow the progress (I'll warn you, school keeps it slow) here
Little bit about me - I'm Nebraska born and bread, raised on a small farm and currently finishing up my 2nd year of veterinary school. My family consists of several motorheads, all in the car world though. Always enjoyed motorcyles from a young age and after I started college I've gone through a number of them: 2008 Kawi Ninja 250, 2004 Yam R6, 2008 Honda CBR600rr, 2010 Honda CBR600rr, 1989 Yam XT600, 2002 Honda XR650L, 1981 Yam XS1100 (brat build I did last summer) ANNNND finally my Harley. So far the satisfaction level is higher with my sportster than any of the bikes I've had. Welp theres what I've got for you guys. Nice to meet you and can't wait to learn what you all have to teach.
