Hello all.
New to the site, thought I'd join up and say hi.
Hoffman here - I'm from Manitoba. I used to ride out in Alberta when I was single, almost 20 years ago. I definitely miss the scenery and the good roads out there.
Getting back into riding, I encouraged my wife to take a training course this summer and am really glad she did. As a surprise after completing the course, I picked up 2004 Sportster 883 for her. It almost brought her to tears.
And last week I traded my quad for a 2001 Sporster for myself.
The wife's bike is running well, mine needs a little work. First I'll have to find a manual for it. I've already replaced a torn throttle cable and the horn, which somehow was not with the bike.
My wife's bike is nicely chromed up, and seems to be larger than my 2001, though I'm not sure if that's a change for that year of bike, or whether it's wheels, frame or otherwise.
I've got some odd staining on my engine's cooling fins that I'm going to need to try and take care of, and I'm going to try and find some stylish chrome add-ons to bring it up from stock. Nonetheless, right now I'm just loving the deep rumble of these engines and can't wait to get mine to the point that I can take our first road trip together.
Anyhow, nice site you have here. I hope to share some good stories and benefit from the experience of other Harley owners!
Cheers.
