Hi, I am from Melbourne, Australia. I have just purchased a 1984 FXEF from a good friend and would like to add a set of forward controls that I have purchased. However, I did not receive any linkages for the gear shift side and was wondering what I have to do or modify in order to fit these controls. I have discovered that they will bolt straight onto the frame. I have looked in the workshop manual but have not discovered anything of real help. Please help. Thankyou
Welcome from the Windy City. Tech forums should be able to help. I'm sure getting a threaded rod in a longer length won't suffice. Of course, keep the old stuff if you ever want to go back. In July, I borrowed a 2004 Guzzi California with forward controls for a ride to the national rally. Big mistake! I had to sit like a bullfrog and my tailbone was screaming after too many Northern Illinois/Eastern Iowa frost heaves. It was like getting whacked upside the *** with a 2X4 10 times a mile!
