Default Winter storage + oil change?

So its about time to put the bike up for the winter.

Its also time for the next oil change.

Just wanted to check with the mindhive.

Change oil now and risk condensation and whatever in the new oil?

or

Let old oil sit in the bike all winter and change in the spring.

Im not sure what to do. Or if it really matters. First new bike for me, want to try to do whats right.

Thanks!

I'd change it now.

Avoid the temptation through the winter to "fire it up", unless you're going to ride it and bring it to operating temp.

And plug the battery tender in!

I lived in Northern Michigan for a lot of years. Winter storage sucks.....

I've always been told you should always change the oil in any motor prior to prolonged storage so you don't have the acids and other contaminants that used oil has in it damaging the motor.

Got mine done at 5800 after a trip. Put 500 miles on it since then and it's going up for winter soon. Not changing my oil. With Synthetic, I think it's a waste of time and money. My 2 cents.....

I usually change oil in Spring but depending when the maintainence cycle hits I've done it in the Fall.
I put the bike down when first salt hits the street and don't start it till I intend to ride again in Spring.
You can take a poll here and find out there is no best way, it don't matter.
