FP3 or Cobra Fi2000 PowerPro Tuner or Fi2000R Closed Loop tuner?
Tuners for a 2014 Ultra Limited
I have been reading about the Cobra Fi2000 PowerPro Tuner. While it cost more ( $599.95 ) It sounds like you never need to worry about a thing again? Once installed it will adjust to whatever changes you make, giving you optimum performance under all conditions or modifications. Sounds awful good. I wonder how difficult to install? I also noticed that they have one version for California and another for the other states. Is the California version any different other than California air resources certified?
Link to the product, hope that is OK? Helps to know what I am talking about.

They also offer a closed loop option, Fi200R from Cobra. Not California legal. Only $279.95

Feedback from anyone experienced with these products is greatly appreciated. Again, I wonder how difficult they would be to install?

I would get a FP3 all day, based on your question.
The Cobra SEEMS like a good unit on paper... but I don't like them.
There IS NO TUNING IT.
The Cobra Fi2000 works off Continuously Variable Tuning, reads the pulses and pulse length form the injectors, makes adjustments, and does not run a constant AFR. It does not have a set "tune" but rather is a constant read and adjust type fuel management unit.
My neighbor has one, we thought it may have been the cause of his issues, so I pulled it and put it on the bench.
Turns out It was not the cause of his problems, and he said he felt more heat, so when I had his bike on the lift this last time swapping injectors and replacing dry-rotted electrical connectors, I re-installed his Cobra.
Sometimes his bike runs like a raped ape... others, well, not so much.
If it were going on my bike, I would put on a SE tuner WAY before I every used that Cobra FI2000...
And if you've ever read what I think about SE tuners, that's saying something... I would never-ever-EVER-ever use a SE tuner on my bike.
My 2 cents, likely worth less. Do what you like, I won't criticize....

FP3 Of those three.
But I'm a PV guy who came from SE tuners.
As Safety Man stated, the cobra units seem to work great sometimes and sometimes not. I know from group rides, the only tunes we've stopped with bike troubles is door to cobra unit. We yanked it of a buddy's bike to just get his bike running again right on the shoulder.
But your gonna get many opinions....Good luck

Yea
I was trying to decide between FP3 and PV. I went with FP3 and all I can say get something. I can't believe how much better the bike runs and I only loaded the canned tune form V&H. I haven't gotten around to auto tune it. I kinda don't want to mess anything up it runs so great now.
The FP3 is really quite cool

2012 Road King, runs awesome with Fi2000 fuel tuner w/Cobra PowrFlo air intake system & 4" Rinehart's w/cat removed. I cannot say anything negative, bike runs unbelievable from idle to any speed simply impressed. Just add any mod's and it adjusts at 80 times a second, no downloads, no maps, no adjustments, plug & play and ride....
