Default Fuel Moto H11/H9 Led review

I purchased the Fuel Moto H11/H9 led kit for my 14 SGS and installed over the weekend.
Installation went without a hitch, just follow the instructions. Takes about 15 minutes.
1. Remove the headlight trim ring ( remove philips screw at bottom and turn slightly to remove) you probably should put a towel over the front fender to eliminate possible scratches.
2. Remove the three screws on the headlight retainer ring
3. remove the headlight and disconnect the wiring harness paying attention to what plug plugs into which bulb.
4. Remove the original bulbs and replace with the new LEDs. These fit snugly without having to use two rubber gaskets like everyone is doing when the purchase the H11 from individually. I believe that fuel Moto has works with their manufacture to add a heavier rubber gasket.
5. Test light before reinstalling headlight assembly. The plugs are polarity sensitive and can be installed in reverse and the light will not function.

Now it was raining and cold here in N Texas this weekend so have not road tested but let me see if I can add the before and after pics of the light against the garage door.

As you can see the light pattern is dramatically different and should luminate the road much better. Also the LEDs are a much whiter light and now match my Custom Dynamics lead turn signals which are white until the turn signal is pressed then they are yellow/orange.

Can't wait to road test as my original light was tough to ride at night. If I met a car on the back roads around here I could not see anything in front of me until they passed as their headlights would wash mine out. Scary at night on back roads as there can be deer, dogs, coyote, raccoons, hogs, cows, horses, donkeys........ You get the idea. Lol

Default Thanks

Hey thanks for the review and the pics JDunn. The light spread seems much better than the original. From the lines on your garage door, it looks like you might be able to raise the beam a little more based on the original to the LED aiming. I know I want my light as far down the road as I can get it.

I just installed passing lamps on my SGS. I have the Sirius Cree LED in my 7". Now my passing lamps have stock halogens and look funny compared. So I will look into the matching Cree's for the lamps. I just dont know the size yet. researching...

Same purchase here JDunn. Just installed the Fuel Moto H9/H11 on my 16 SGS. Installation was a snap but I pulled the fairing off...had a few other items to install. Looked good in the garage, very bright. Much better than stock bulbs. Hopefully I can road test later this week.

First thing first, I am in no way associated with Fuel Moto but they get rave reviews from the forum members and my experience has always been great.

Racin, you want to look at the fuel Moto page as they have passing light LEDs as well. From their site:

"Moto LED Fog/Passing 881 Replacement Bulb Set - This is a drop in replacement passing lamp bulb for your Harley Davidson motorcycle and fits 90% of motorcycles made after 1995. Without the need to replace the entire housing this bulb provides the advantages of a Fog/Passing LED at a fraction of the cost."

I am assuming that you have added the passing light bar? As the SGS did not come with it. Or are you talking about the turn signals? I have added the Custom Dynamics Led turn signals. Oops never mind I see you stated you had just installed the passing lamps.
