Decatted headers, Rienhart mufflers, FP3
I am looking to get some decatted headers and an FP3 for my 2015 SGS; what should I be concerned about performance wise? I may also be going with a stage 1 air cleaner as well, but will see.
I had an 2014 FLS (Slim) prior to my SGS and had done the exhaust (V&H Big Shots Long) along with the V&H air cleaner and an FP3 (I know I will need to purchase an new FP3, besides the old one went with the Slim when I traded it in), so I have a little experience with doing a Stage 1, and I would imagine it is very similar between the 2 scoots...just wanted to get the opinions here first before I take the plunge.

I wish I had a dyno to see if the sounds through the stage 1 A/C (2 wood blocks slamming together) are worth the HP gains. I'm seriously thinking of going back to stock. I'm running a decatt header. I pulled the baffle but left the insulation on SG mufflers. My FP3 is set at #1 decel pop and 900 RPM. The bike sounds like the motorcycle everyone wants. It's slightly louder than my V&H slip on but quiter than V&H 2into1.

I'm running decatted header with Rineharts and dealer download (Stage 1).
Assuming the FP3 is similar, you will like it a lot.
Mine pulls nice and hard, virtually no decel popping, nice and cool running, and I get 45-47 mpg all day long.
Sound with the decatted headers and Rineharts is right on the edge of too loud. Any louder and you won't be listening to the radio much.
YMMV

? The answer to the stock exhaust was because when I picked up the bike I put on V&H twin slash s/o. First thing I've done to all my new bikes/factory sewing machines. Later I got the SG system for $50 on Craigslist so I could gut the header and keep the stocker. Then I painted the mufflers and and heat shield's just to see what it looked like.
Not expecting to keep the exhaust I decided to pull the baffles. I pulled the baffles, but left the insulation on the outer edge inside hoping it would be a little sound deadening. Now I'm having a hard time changing back.
If you're talking about the A/C, I'm thinking of going stock because it's loud. I hear the valves slamming shut.

I have an FP3, Screamin' Eagle Stage AC (kept stock cover, only changed the backplate and put in a K&N filter), and Rush Big Louie slip-ons. Have not decatted the header but am planning on tackling that this weekend, mainly to see what heat reduction I can get with that.
As for performance, the FP3 has been great: very little decel pop (have not gone in to mess with it to try and eliminate it), improved response from take off, no appreciable loss in MPG. Bike pulls and runs hard. I have not experienced any of the AC noise that others hear with the stage 1 AC.
I think you will be pleased going this route.
