ear bud plug in

I have used the ear speakers in my helmet since it has been available and it works very well, tied into the boom you can use all features including blue tooth iphone, ipod etc.
The problem i have always had was wearing anything inserted into my ear with a helmet on, never wore them with my flight helmet, probably why i can't hear so good today. But the pressure of an actual ear bud, not the foam ear plugs is annoying to me. Hope it works for you

They are short enough that a helmet doesn't put pressure on them and they lower noise to safe levels without the "muffled" effect. They are a bit less comfortable than foam earplugs until your ear canal acclimates to them. I don't even notice them anymore to the point I often forget to remove them when off the bike. Etymotic does have foam eartips available in their accessories catalog if you want them.

Interesting thread. So I have to decide if I really need to be able to answer the phone when on trips. I don't get many calls but I'd like to be able to answer the phone . If I'm riding with a group I can't pull over. I don't use the voice commands at all. But answering a call though rare would be important. Hmmmm

Thank you for all of the responses, and I'm glad I'm not the only one wanting for this feature. My ear buds are form fitted from a company called Big Ear, I had to go to a dealer and he poured wax in my ears a mold was made and they took a few weeks to get. The sound quality is unbelievable, their products are used by musicians. I have their least expensive version and they were north of $300. I got them before I had a bike with audio and were a great solution. Now that I have a bike with a radio I find I like the controls, and listening to my Ipod via Bluetooth, but the audio cannot keep up with 80mph interstate rides or my earplugs. I found that I was skipping the radio all together on road trips and just using my Ipod. I do hope this is a good solution and perhaps something others can use as well.
Thank you for all the solutions, I have two on order I will return the one that has lower performance. If their both good, I'll keep em both and have a spare.
