Motor Mounts
I'm coming up on 40k miles and have it in mind to r&r my motor mounts when I do my next tires. The mounts are fine for now but I assume from what I've heard and read that the mounts wear out around 40k. I don't like to wait until things are worn out totally before replacing them.
The fronts look pretty easy. But on the rears, the manual doesn't say to support the motor before removing the swingarm. I can't see what supports the rear of the tranny once the pivot shaft is removed. I figure to replace the fronts first, and then do the rears once I pull the rear wheel out for the new tire. I assume I can do just the mounts w/o removing the swingarm, but I may want to go ahead and remove the swingarm anyway to inspect and clean. Whether or not I remove the swingarm, it seems like the rear of the tranny at least needs some support once the pivot shaft is gone.
Has anyone done this to their Rushmore or other bike with a similar layout?
