Default Questions about installing fangs on 14 Ultra Limited

I'm getting ready to install the hd fangs on my 14 Ultra limited. Couple questions.

Do you install them under the stud that the passing lamps/turn singles bolt on to? Or do you just remove the acorn nut and install them under the passing lamps?

Has anyone tried bending them back to clear the turn signals instead of cutting them? It's looks like they might clear the lowers but would be close.

Looks like I need to drill a hole for the wiring to pass through?

I've read the other threads on this subject but wanted to clarify these steps. Thanks!

You don't need to drill hole for wiring. The plug will fit through the hole that's there.

I cut mine to fit.

Cant remember anything about the install that wasn't simple and straight forward. Do one side at a time. Easier to line up studs.

Did you remove the stud bolt or just the acorn nut and install under the passing lamps? I don't have instructions with mine. On mine there is no hole for the wiring. Just two holes, one for the top bolt and one for the bottom. Does yours have 3 holes?

Yes they have three holes. Part #57400146A.
Remove the studs. Instructions can be found on the Harley website. Just search the part number above.
Sounds like you have a old set.

Remove the stud bolts and install the fang. Re-install the stud bolts than the turn signals. Mine has three holes. One for the wiring. I also cut mine with a dremel tool to fit under the turn signals.

I bought mine used. Supposed to be that part number but they did not come in a box. Only two holes.

Even the picture on the HD website shows 2 holes not 3??

I had, and really liked, the Fangs I had on my 2010 Heritage Softail. So the idea of adding them to my Ultra Limited sounds like it might be a good idea. But, doesn't having to cut them kinda-sorta defeat the whole value of the original chrome? Or are you having them re-chromed after your "adjustment?"

H-m-m-m-m-m Harley says P/N 57400146A only fits the Road King FLHR, Street Glide FLHX and Street Glide Special FLHXS, no mention of an Ultra Ltd.

They fit you just have to cut them for the turn signal. Most people I see here are just painting the cut edge with chrome paint. Seems like no problems so far.

I took my passing lamps and turn signals off yesterday and put the wings on for a test drive. Wow major improvement in buffeting. Even my wife said she noticed a huge difference. Can't wait to get these cut and permanently mounted.

I did not a 5-10 degree increase on the interstate. This on my fuelpak fp3. But while moving temps never got over 208.
