Default 18 HARLEY touring or 18 Heritage 114 or BMW K1600B. Different bikes, big decision.

Having owned nothing but Harleys for close to 30 years, have decided to check out the new BMW K1600B with a test ride. Will test ride a new Road Glide and Heritage 114 before deciding.

While I feel a bit like a traitor for even thinking about a non HD, going to make sure I'm buying what's best for me. It's a ton of cash. If anyone's interested, I will share my impression following my test ride.

This is the K1600B, what do you guys think? Personally, I generally like German products.

Fixed your link.

Needs bigger mufflers

JK.... it looks to be a great bike... buy the one that speaks to you. Seat height pretty much kills the Beemers for me.

I gave a lot of thought to a triumph Thunderbird before buying my Fat Boy. And feeling like a traitor never crossed my mind. I work hard for my money, and I'll spend it the way I want.
I would choose the heritage over the three, but that's completely because I prefer the look of that bike. Choose whichever makes you the most happy. It's your money.

I rode the new BMW up at Sturgis and did demo days and rode the new Heritage and all the versions of the Road Glides. The 1600B was a nice bike but the bars, seat and mid pegs didn't do it for me. I couldn't see long mileage days on it.
The RG'S were what I'm used to. All could be good long mileage bikes. The heritage in 114 was a nice bike. Good ride, handling and power. I just don't like everything blacked out. Looks cheap to me. I'm a chrome guy but it could be a good bike to tour on with a little work, seat, hiway pegs ect. Go ride the BMW and ride the new Yama hammer as well.
Pick your poison and have fun. Me I'll stay with my HD's. I can ride them all day and get up ready to do it again. I also like the dealer network around the country, but they may stop working on twin cams at some point.

Its all about your ride preference for me it was the Ultra Limited hands down, but I have many friends who ride the BMW also you won't know until you put some miles behind you to truly know what you like.. and heavymetalthunder makes a good point about the dealer network around the country, you don't have to look far for a HD dealership..

The BMW K1600B is not just a different bike . It is from a different world. An Amazing Machine . But it is no two up bike . Rumor is BMW is working on a tour pack trunk for it.

It's nice have this problem, I've heard great things about the BMW K1600 motor and its handling ability. Test drive will tell you a lot...

It is all about the type of riding you plan to do. Those are vastly different bikes?

I can tell you that I was VERY happy with my 2016 Limited. It did everything very well. The wife wanted a CVO and found the one she wanted and we traded this week. Got a new 2017 left over Limited CVO. Rode Saturday and today between church services and WOW, WOW, WOW.

I am thanking her now for wanting this bike. It is a total different bike from the 2016 for the better. Handling, ride, luxury and POWER. I am blown away.

I would never have gone and bought this bike, now I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

Ride them all and buy what is best for you and your needs. I hope you find the one that makes you as happy as I am!

I agree your money but the small bags on the Heritage no way a touring would be the only way with what ever brand unless its day rides only

I test rode a K1600B several weeks ago. Damn impressive machine. It's the one bike out there that I'd jump ship from Harley for.

Quick Reply: 18 HARLEY touring or 18 Heritage 114 or BMW K1600B. Different bikes, big decision.
