Default Best Cam for 103" HO

Ok guys, looking for advice and I know it's a bit of a subjective question but looking for thoughts on the best cam upgrade for a 103" HO?

2015 Road Glide Special

Best bang for your buck? Anyone have dyno numbers from their upgrade?

I've been doing some reading, looking at Andrews 57s. Don't really think I need the easy starts since the motor has ACRs already.

I did Andrews 48s in my 2009 SG 96" and was really happy with the results.

I'm seeing and reading about all different options for the 103" so lets have it, what do yas think?

Thanks!

Put Andrews 48H in my 14 103. Love it, just the right amount. This is a wide topic and you can go a million ways. I researched for months, talked to tuners, other guys, people on here. I wanted to feel it in the seat of my pants, it will go the speed limit so the top end was not a concern. Just mho

48s on my Ultra seem to work pretty good with a tune.

I went with the Woods 222's. Good numbers 92/112, but if I had it to do over again, I might go with the Woods 555's or Andrews 57's. Basically the same numbers, with room for growth. The 222's severely limit your growth, as they are meant for stock compression only. Even so, if you're not going to do anything other than cams, I might go with the Andrews 48's this time. Torque is said to come on earlier than the 222's. Now, if you plan to do more, I would definitely call FuelMoto, Frank Drago or Hillside. They have developed several power packages, and have posted their Dyno results. I wish I would have done more research before deciding to do cams only. I know Dragobikeworks gives veteran discounts, where as FuelMoto only gives discounts to active duty. I don't really know anything about Hillside, other then reviews written here.

I went with the 555s in my SG after having 777s in my 103" Night Train (also had headwork done). Happy with the results. Fuel Moto has dyno charts for a lot of applications.

Very subjective as you said ,,, and there will be a number of opinions ...

If it is just cams and nothing else , you can narrow it down to a few tried and tested cams for the 103HO motor...

I was in the cam research mode for my 2015 Street Glide.. Narrowed it down to a few ... Out of the blue, a mate of mine had a set of SE 204's in his shed that he was'nt going to use, and said I could have them for $100 .. As I was doing the work myself , it was the deal breaker.... Spent money on a good dyno tune , and was happy as Larry with the extra torque, where most want it,, not to mention the great lopey sound the SE204's produce.. ....

I have ridden a number of similar camed up only bikes ,, and all I can say is, the SE204's in the 103HO bike, are worthwhile to be a consideration....

Good luck with you project .....

Andrews 57h 's are said to work great in the 103, will work with stock compression and have some room for more. Not to mention the price!!! I've seen alot of people who like the mr103's. There's a ton of choices but narrow it down by looking at cams that fit your riding style because your head will spin after a while lol

“Best Bang for the Buck”

A properly tuned stocker with a good 2-1-2 headpipe & muffler’s with NO larger than a 2.0 core

“Best Cam”

Well, Buckle in for a Heinz 57 response !

My .02 as a True “Bolt In”
TTS 100 or Andrews 48 or a SE 255 to be had for $75 as a take out
It all comes down to a great tune & exhaust

All other grinds or flavor of the month cam will require head work & compression bump to fully shine
Many will disagree & get their weenies out to debate.....but you’ll lose the mediate power band where most if not all ride at. Most ride a bike that’s over cam’d
