Default Replace Battery and Memory

There has been some discussions about battery replacement. I mentioned that I am getting a new one for the next riding season.

With the newer bikes (Rushmore) and all of the Boom Box electronics - when I replace my battery (disconnect it), will I loose all of my memories for the Boom.? Or, is there some sort of a temp electronic memory (battery) What about the security system, will I loose that code also?

Thanks

I changed mine a year or so ago. Do not recall any issues with the bike. It was just a straight R&R.

The memory in the radio and GPS is flash memory (non volatile) all your presets and waypoint data should be good. If memory serves, you will have to reset your clock.

If you want to save the clock there is a device with a battery in it to put into the cigarette lighter or similar receptacle to save it. I bought one for the Corvette but can't remember where I got it. Possibly HF.

Ih4X4 - interesting - never heard of that before. If you recall the name of it, please let me know - they may be a few other uses.

Thanks

Security system is not affected in any way when you replace the bikes battery.
Same goes for replacing the FOB battery.

The PIN you set remains until you either change the PIN yourself, or the entire security system is replaced.

Just replaced my battery a few weeks ago, nothing was erased (including the clock).

All - sounds like some great news. Again, with all of these electronics, I just wanted to ask.
