Default Feeling better about ESP purchase

I purchased a Cornerstone ESP from Jim for 5 years. Went back and forth numerous times because I generally don't believe in them. I realize the fact that "I've won" is a statistical anomaly, but it's making me feel better at least

Bike is a 2015 RGS that I justified purchasing the ESP due to averaging 10-15K a year. It's less than one year out of factory warranty. Last fall, I had front wheel bearing go south and cruise control that wasn't working and this service, I noticed a tiny leak on front and rear cylinders, plus shifter was getting noisy/rattling.

There, I feel better about myself.

My factory warranty is close to being up on my ‘16 RGS and have been contemplating it just due to the electronics on the bike. I’m sure anything that happens is quite costly.

My wife was hesitant at first, but when she realized it covered the electronics, it was a no brainer...especially when you consider what the radio costs by itself...

I agree. If you ride a decent amount of miles and plan on really riding it, it's a pretty good price. Repairs add up quickly.

ESP are like gambling, the house always wins! But if they give the warm and fuzzy feeling, it's cool.

if you ride enough or go on a cross country trip like I have done and plan on doing again next year it's worth the piece of mind knowing if it breaks down on my trip everything will be covered for 50 bucks. plus hotel stays and a bike if they can't get me rolling in a timely manner. now if I was a bar hopper or guy who walks around the bar saying yep I own a Harley. then I would agree it's a waste of money to get the esp. some ride ours alot.

I have had the extended warranty on three bikes that I bought. On all three, the claims were higher than the premium paid so I am happy. I put on a lot of miles every year so it's worth it to me.

I went back & forth and got one from Boardtracker. The day before the factory warranty expired.

I guess I'm not a "real" biker because I went with an ESP. I had to, because my Rocket Science degree was too expensive to renew.

Well I don't disagree with you in theory (because they house is gambling that most riders do about 3000 miles a year), I had no qualms this time at the price of $1375 for 5 years. I will have somewhere between 85-105,000 miles on my bike by then. Was a no-brainer for me. The house didn't win, this time In fact, I'd take that bet at that price with my miles every single time from here on out. These HD's are not toyota's, that's for damn sure. For what they cost, they should be as reliable though.
