Default Bike shorting when washing

2015 street glide. Every time I wash the bike there’s an issue for a day. It either won’t start, the speakers will have a ton of feedback or some weird electrical issue. Then a day later i assume it’s dry and all is good and well again. What the hell am I doing wrong? I never spray the inner fairing as I have aftermarket Radio. Never spray the speakers directly. This time I taped where the windshield goes into fairing to block water. It’s a pain to wash it and then have to wait a day for it to dry. Any help?

Did this start happening out of the clear blue? If not, did you do anything to the bike and then the issue started afterwards?

After modification of stereo by taking off fearing etc I noticed it. But really I’ve done so much to the bike it’s hard to pin down. I have new windshields and stereo screen and speakers etc etc. I assume it’s getting in fairing from either bottom or top. I taped off the top tonight when i washed it so I assume it’s the bottom but. I thought it was pretty sealed off. And speakers are not marine grade but a little water splash shouldn’t cause it having a loud feed back sound.

Since you've modified the stereo and other things, and since we can't see exactly what modifications you made and how you did those modifications, you should go back over them and make sure everything is watertight since the starting issue only happens after you wash the bike.

That still doesn't solve your problem. Do you want a bike that dies in the rain? I wouldn't.

Next time you wash, put plastic bags over your handle bar controls to rule that out.

that happened today while riding. Getting feedback only through the left speaker when I hit the handbrake the feedback gets higher pitched when I hit the throttle it gets higher pitched when I pull in the clutch it goes away a little bit. Bike through those codes and a little red dot going on in my Sony head unit shut down There is no way the components are still wet because I trailer the bike for five hours in the heat and I was riding today in 90° temperatures

rode it again today after clearing the codes and it didn't throw any codes and I didn't get any popping from the stereo. I hauled *** and went slow and turned stereo up and down and nothing happened.
