Default Driver Issue - SE Pro Tuner

Posted this in the tuner section but no luck there...maybe somebody can help here hopefully:

Hello,

Downloaded the SE pro tuner SW and have a failure when the drivers try and load. The SE SW works fine but something is not allowing the drivers to load and connct to the bike. Anyone else experienced this?

WIN 7
Dell XPS laptop

I've hooked up the bike and the tuner blink once but no communication.

Thanks,
jP

Make sure you did all the updates to the software. I have Windows 7 64 bit and had no problem. It was well over a year ago I did mine. Make sure you have both switches on when you try to hook to the vci and bike. If that doesn't work I would uninstall and start over. May also look in the Device Manager and see if a conflict with the com port.

I was refering to updating and reinstalling the SEPST software not Win 7. I installed mine from the DVD/CD and don't remember any issues installing the drivers. Here is copy of Installing Drivers from the help search. The light only blinks once when properly installed. Why do you think the driver isn't installed. The light is not suppose to be on solid unless recording.

Installing Drivers
Drivers required to communicate with the Super Tuner VCI are automatically installed during Super Tuner software installation.

Software Versions & Updates

Web Install & Updates
The Super Tuner software is available for download at www.h-d.com/tuning. Enter your VCI serial number and select Super Tuner software.

To determine whether an update is available for your software, connect your PC to the Internet, go to the home screen and select "Check for Updates." If an update is available, select "Download Install." You will be prompted to check for updates periodically.

When updating software, you will be prompted to close some of the programs that are currently in use. Read the message box and close the programs it indicates, and then click OK or Retry.

VCI Use & Updates

Indicator Lights
When connected to a motorcycle, the VCI LED will blink once to indicate it is connected; it will only remain on steady if it is being used in data record mode. For more info on recording data with VCI, search for Record Data in the online help system.

so far one guy had the usb plugged into the wrong outlet, another has uninstalled and re installed successfully, a third I suggested to use ccleaner to clean registry but have not heard how that went. another had the street tuner. hmmm? That would be a different software;
