amsoil shock therapy 5w fork oil or penrite 5w synthetic
Fitting a set of Ricor Intimators shortly to my 2007 Ultra & am trying to figure out which would be the best oil to use, Amsoil shock therapy 5w fork oil or Penrite 5w synthetic.
I already have the Penrite but someone told Me I should put Amsoil, they are both 5w and quality oils, will it make a difference????.

All brands of oil will have a bit different viscosity even when marked 5. I personally have always used PJ1 oils for suspension because they sponsored me back in the day. Unless you have data for the amsoil somehow being better suited viscosity wise for the valves I would use whatever 5 weight suspension oil you have.

I can't speak to your specific question, but I did just recently service my folks with Amsoil. I did some homework and seemed the stock fluid was 10-15 wt depending on who you ask, with 15 being highly recommended in stock forks. I'm an Amoil fan so I decided to roll the dice and go wth a 10 Amsoil since they don't make anything heavier. Absolutely perfect. Completely removed a lot of the mush out of the stock performance. Control is firmer too, which is what I wanted. I don't know if this was much help, but the Amsoil will be a quality fluid and you'll be happy.
