Speaking of thread
Changed my transmission & primary oil yesterday. In the drain pan I found what resembled a fingernail clipping which turned out to be metal so a thread, or piece of one has pulled loose from somewhere. This can't be good.
How much **** am I in I wonder. Anyone else had this happen ?
The drain plugs look good and reinstalled normally with no leaks after the oil change. I can't find, see or feel anything wrong but the location of the transmission drain / plug between the rear shocks on my softail Breakout, makes close inspection difficult.

Most likely the threads in the tranny pan are starting to come out.Its hard to tell but if its rounded like a finger nail then most likely thats the culprit.
