Anybody not make a mess when they change their oil?

Relocating your oil filter definitely makes for an easier oil change and less mess.
PLUS, Cooler oil helps engines last longer!
By relocating the oil filter, the filter is out in the wind, & it's easy to remove the filter w/ No Mess! No More Oil Compromising the Front Rubber Motor Mount!
Here's the oil filter relo on the DK Sporty:

I also like to put a hole in the front side of my oil filter before I remove it, right near the end. Then loosen it 90 degrees so the hole is facing down into my funnel, and I let it drain that way before I remove it all the way. Then i can pull it all the way off without spilling a drop.

Another harley part...they sell that little funnel thingy that goes under the filter with a hose at the end of it...one trick to is loosen the filter a little before putting it under because the filter wrench won't go on with the funnel on. I stuff a few paper towels up under too just to make sure I get any oil that misses the funnel. I haven't seen that part anywhere else but you can get a low profile oil drain pan at an auto parts store alot cheaper than the harley dealer.

I have used a aluminum foil lined soda twelve pack, which worked pretty good. Tonight I used a cut down 2 liter bottle and that didn't work that great. But either way, I still get oil running down the side onto the ground and bottom of the engine.
The oil pan I use is too high, and I don't have a lift. I'm thinking of using a baking pan next time, so it covers the drain and oil filter area. Any better ideas?
I don't want to get a lift, because I have too much crap in my garage already. Also crawling around on cement , makes me feel young again.

Yeah, i can perform NO MESS oil changes.
I relocated my oil filter.
Oil filter adapter, CNC billet Oil filter mount, stainless steel braided hose, Black hose finishers and a Billet reusable Oil filter.
I changed my mind with the hose and finishers and went with Black Fiber Braided hoses with Chrome hose finishers. Im glad i did, i think it looks better.
The engine now runs cooler ( around 10 - 15c) and no more messy oil changes.
