What were the particles in the oil and what was the size count?
The oil itself will stay "good" for a very long time; but it's the particles in the oil that wear the engine...mainly carbon from the burnt gas..that is why you need regular changes.

This may not pertain to our touring bikes as much as race cars, but Red Line dyno tests showed a small HP gain. When you racing a couple HP may make a difference. It is good oil as well. AMsoil is good oil also. Hell if you change dino oil after every few long rides, it;s good.
