What are you guys running for oil in your trans and primary?Time for my 1000 mile service. Will put Harley"s synthetic in the engine. What weight of oil does Harley run in the trans? The service manuel doesn't say.I believe some are running 75w140.Is this ok?
harley sells either 20w50 for all 3 holes or you can use their formular+ for the trans and primary.
I use Mobil 1 V-twin 20w50 in the engine, Mobil 1 75w90 in the trans and Rotella T in the primary. Works for me.
I'm an amsoil believer but you probably can't go wrong with HD's brand either. I highly recommend Red Lines V twin gear oil with shockproof for the tranny. Made a noticable difference.
AMS oil all the way. I use it in the bike and in the truck. The bike idles down sooner after start up and the truck gets a lot better milege! Just go to the amsoil web site and they will show you all the research they have done. It does make the bike run smooter!

HD 20-50 in primary and motor. BelRay 85-140 in trans. The local dealer recommends and sales Belray. Next oil change I may use Mobil 1 20-50 syn. Not a big deal though...
