Royal Purple 75-140 to Syn3
baby girl is in the shop for bearing issue AGAIN, this is now the 4th time. 1st was the 5th gear then, 4th 5th and 6th along with the needle bearing..got her back in Feb. rode to nola from Miami and back then before goin to Leesburg Fest, changed Oils and tranny fluids, put v-twin synthetic in engine and Royal Purple max gear 75-140w , went to leesburg and back, no issue, Mothers day, heard noise and took her in, Shop found compensator bolt loose, and the damage, fix and said come get her! well as i rode off heard another Noise found the bearing (8967a) grinding, Shop manager ( Harley ) stated that the fluid is incorrect and is not covered and is customer pay, knowing that no where in the repair orders is the bearing replaced as it should have been, but would the Difference in oil impact that bearing?

Questionable post. Not one thing he said had a thing to do with what lube was used. Whole story sound a bit off.

Well Harley sells and recommends the heavier gear lube now and they can’t hold it against warranty for not using their brand. I’d say they are trying to screw you if the facts you presented are correct.

Holy crap, I have Walmart gear oil in my 07 FLHTC with 102000 miles on it... I wonder if the warranty is voided now. Come to think of it....I’ve had Syn3, mobil1, Napa...I think you have a bad transmission.
